Discover the new Celebrity Dusty Ducks at Castle Espie this summer! World famous Aardman studios, creators of Wallace and Gromit, designed Dusty Duck to celebrate WWT’s 70th anniversary and this summer Dusty, along with his 14 celebrity designed friends will be on show around the reserve.

Armagh

Navan Fort’s annual celebration of the ancient Celtic sun god Lugh takes place this Saturday 5th August. The Wickerman Gathering is a fun packed programme with live bands including the fabulous HatchJaw, the foot tapping Trad Folk Experience and the outstanding Fireside Folk.   Activities on the evening will include dancing, Celtic mindfulness, Casting of the Fews, a Celtic encampment, crafts stalls and of course don’t forget we the Wickerman towering above the audience, ready for the fire ceremony.

Fermanagh

Jazzeys Laughter Lounge returns for the first-Thursday of fun in Bogan’s with a sensational lineup. This month, Enniskillen is pleased to welcome the one-and-only Shane Todd, with support on the night from Darren Matthews and Dave Elliott.

Tyrone

The Battle of the Buskers will take place on Saturday 5 August 2017 from 12noon to 4.30pm in Dungannon Town Centre, with a live performance at Blues on The Hill by the winner at 6.30pm.   Battle of the Buskers returns for its 3rd year on Saturday 5th August 2017 from 12noonto 4.30pm in Dungannon Town Centre. Musicians, singers, bands and solo artists are being invited to showcase their musical talent in this exciting competition. Each Busker will be allocated a pitch to compete along with a time slot to perform in the civic space in Upper Market Square where a canopy stage and sound system will be in place. Additional street and family entertainment will also form a great day out in Dungannon!

Derry/Londonderry

In aid of Foyle Hospice. The Causeway Coast Model, Craft and Food Fest is taking place between 2.00pm and 9.00pm on Thursday 3rd August 2017 at the Lodge Hotel, Coleraine.  The event will feature a wide range of stands with toys and models  for all ages.  Local enthusiasts will also be displaying some of their models and layouts.  A wide array of stands with locally produced craft products will have their wares available.  Food stands will also be at the Show. So if you are looking  farm toys or models, cars, lorries, buses for young or old come along and see what you might find.

Antrim

2017 is the 27th anniversary of Heart of the Glens Festival (5th to 13th August),  one of the most successful community festivals in Northern Ireland. The programme of events is as varied and entertaining as ever with something for all the family. The festival will open with fireworks and throughout the week there will be the usual favourites including the Lurig Run, Vintage Family Fun Day. Dance Workshops etc. There will be a festival theme on Friday night, 11th. This is always a popular night with hundreds crowding into the village for a great night of fun and entertainment. As always, visitors and locals alike are always welcomed and hope that the festival has something for everyone. Get yourself to Cushendall and join in the fun.

Belfast

Making Waves on board HMS Caroline will run on Saturday 5th Aug, Wednesday 9th Aug, Wednesday 16th Aug, Saturday 26th Aug and Monday 28th August.  This is a drop in session between 11am – 3pm. Fun for all the Family! Join artist Julie Greenlee on board and learn how to weave using peg looms. Use a variety of wool and fabric strips to create ‘waves’ which will then be joined together and suspended from the ceiling creating colourful, gently flowing waves.
