1. Array Collective: The Druthaib’s Ball at the Ulster Museum, Belfast, 24 February – 3 September. The Druthaib’s Ball is the 2021 Turner Prize-winning installation by the Belfast-based artists collectively known as Array Collective. They are the first artists from Northern Ireland to win the prestigious Turner Prize. The acquisition to the Ulster Museum collection was supported by the Art Fund and the Department for Communities.
2. St Patrick’s Celebrations, Belfast, 10 – 19 March.Belfast’s annual St Patrick’s Celebrations returns 10-19 March with a fantastic line-up. The focus in 2023 will be a celebration of local music across various genres, paying tribute to the city’s UNESCO City of Music status. 4. Sunday Session: St Patrick’s Weekend, Armagh, County Armagh, 19 March. 5. St Patrick’s Day Family Paddle, Warrenpoint, County Down, 17 March. Begin the St Patrick’s Day celebrations in style by joining Geology Rocks Adventure Tourism on the water for a paddle board event on the beautiful shoreline of Warrenpoint, Carlingford Lough. Check website for information.
6. St Patrick’s Day at Slemish, Broughshane, County Antrim, 17 March. Join the fun on Friday 17 March to celebrate St Patrick’s Day and take part in the annual trek up Slemish to enjoy the spectacular views. The walk to the summit and back is 1.5km and takes approximately one hour in good weather.
7. Dark Skies In Lough Navar, Derrygonnelly, County Fermanagh, 17 March. Join Terry Mosley from the Irish Astronomical Association to experience the dark skies and the abundance of stars and planets (including Venus and Mars) with a focus on what you can see with the naked eye. Please wear suitable footwear and warm waterproof clothing.
8. The Spirit of the Bann, Coleraine, County Londonderry, 17 March (more dates available.) Causeway Coast Foodie Tours is delighted to host you on ‘The Spirit of the Bann’, a very special river whiskey tasting experience. 2. The Titanic Experience Reimagined, Belfast, Reopening 4 March. Titanic Belfast will reopen on Saturday 4th March with four exciting new themed galleries. The reimagined Titanic Experience introduces The Pursuit of Dreams as a new theme and will use immersive technology combined with the authentic Titanic Story in its refreshed spaces called Never Again; Ballard’s Quest; The Ship of Dreams and The Lasting Legacy. The world-leading visitor attraction has now revealed details of one of the centrepieces of the new experience – an illuminated 7.6m long scale model of RMS Titanic. The new model will be illuminated and suspended from the ceiling. It will fully rotate, taking approximately 90 seconds to complete, promising to provide a true wow factor for visitors.
3. Dawn Chorus Paddle – Celebration Of World Wildlife Day, Lisnarick, County Fermanagh, 4 March. Explore the history of the Lower Lough by kayak and taste the beauty of life on the water, with Blue Green Yonder. 6. A Celebration of Coinage at Ulster Museum, Belfast, 4 March. To celebrate their 60th anniversary, the Numismatics Society of Ireland (Northern Branch) are hosting a lecture on the last two and half thousand years of coinage. You’ll hear from expert speakers, as well as a series of short highlights of other areas of numismatic interest.
7. ‘Nostalgia in the Afternoon’ – From Gorgon to the New Yorker Exhibition, Magherafelt, County Londonderry, 1 – 21 March. Magherafelt Library, working in partnership with Seamus Heaney HomePlace in Bellaghy, is excited to announce an exhibition showcasing a collection of Seamus Heaney archived materials curated over more than four decades by Mr Pat Brennan.
8. Ulster Orchestra, Cookstown, County Tyrone, 3 March. The Ulster Orchestra is delighted to return to The Burnavon for an eclectic evening of music, from Mozart to Jessie Montgomery, and features the Orchestra’s own Principal Trumpet Tom Fountain as soloist for Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto.

4. Our Place in Space, Holywood, County Down, 24 February – 26 March. Centred around an epic scale model of the solar system, Our Place in Space combines a 3D sculpture trail and an interactive AR app. The exhibition visited Derry~Londonderry, Belfast, Cambridge and Liverpool in 2022 and was experienced by over 300,000 people. It returns to Northern Ireland in February 2023. Free to visit and beginning in the grounds of the Ulster Transport Museum at Cultra, the trail will weave its way onto the North Down Coastal Path and stretch through Crawfordsburn Country Park before ending with Pluto at Bangor Pier.
5. Oyster & Stout Festival, Derry~Londonderry, 24 – 25 February. The Walled City Brewery & Legenderry Food present Northern Ireland’s first ever Stout & Oyster Festival. A weekend of music and activities supporting the wonderful Lough Foyle Native Oyster and our totally unique Foyster Stout. Our award-winning chefs will be shucking fresh oysters, whilst also presenting other oyster delights -all accompanied by other local seafood dishes. 1. An Ode to Robert Burns, Holywood, County Down, 28 January. Join the Ulster Folk Museum for a celebration of Robert Burns, Scotland’s national poet. Here are ten exciting things taking place 19 December 2022 – 1 January 2023

 

1. Kids Christmas Chocolate Making, Castlerock, County Londonderry, 22 – 23 December. The Chocolate Manor in Castlerock will host one of the tastiest kids’ Christmas experiences on the Causeway Coast this December. In this one-hour experience, participants will make three festive chocolate creations using the finest Belgian chocolate. They will be offered a hot chocolate while their creations set before packaging them up to take home and enjoy. Please note this can be a messy experience so they don’t recommend your best clothes – and please ensure long hair is tied back. Aprons will be provided. Parents of children aged seven and below will be required to stay in the room. Parents of children over seven may leave their children for the hour-long session.
2. New Year’s at HotBox, Limavady, County Londonderry, 30 December – 1 January. Kick off the New Year in style with a splash in the wintery Atlantic before getting cosy in a seaside sauna. This 90-minute session is designed to give you enough time in the sauna for a hot steam before jumping into the sea to cool off several times over. They will also have a snug gazebo and fire pit for you to cuddle around, toast s’mores from Mallow Makers, enjoy a cup of NearyNógs hot chocolate, and more. Booking is essential.
