  1. NI Music Prize, Belfast, 16 November. The NI Music Prize is an annual music awards event acknowledging the best of music from Northern Ireland over the last twelve months. It features performances from shortlisted artists and this year features a very special Oh Yeah Legend Award presentation to musician and singer from Horslips, Barry Devlin. 
  2. Atlantic Sessions, Various locations across Portrush and Portstewart, County Antrim and County Londonderry, 18 – 20 November.A three-day feast of musical talent, featuring over 30 original artists in various venues, including bars, coffee shops, hotels and town halls across Portrush and Portstewart. Most gigs are admission free, with some headline ticketed events. 
  3. S. Lewis Festival, Belfast, 18 – 20 November. Enjoy the 10th C.S. Lewis Festival with a family focus featuring lots of fun events and creative experiences to celebrate the creativity and imagination of the Belfast born author. C.S. Lewis Square will be the hub for this year’s festival activity and events taking place here will include an Outdoor Cinema screening of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and the annual Christmas at C.S. Lewis Square event, featuring Christmas Market, Christmas Tree Light Switch On, ‘Snow Globe’ Imagination Pods and lots of other fun activities for the family.
  4. Belfast Christmas Market, Belfast, 19 November – 22 December. Visit the Belfast Christmas Market in the City Hall grounds from 19th November to the 22ndDecember for an award-winning taste of Christmas. With a host of international traders offering incredible foods and delightful gift ideas, there’s lots to choose from and enjoy. This year the food court at the Market, with bench style seating, makes a welcome return, as does the vintage Helter Skelter, offering stunning views right across the market, and the much-loved carousel.  
  5. Fused Glass Ogham Experience at White Rock Glass Studio – Fused Glass Christmas Decorations, Newtownhamilton, County Armagh, 19 November.Reconnect with your inner creative in this fully immersive, fused glass experience at White Rock Glass Studio with professional visual artist Tracey Mc Verry. Surrounded by the wild and dramatic scenery of the Fews Mountains, Tracey welcomes visitors to her fifth-generation family home and glass studio, overlooking the National Trust’s ancient Ballymoyer  
  6. KirkistownPoint-to-Point Races, Portavogie, County Down, 19 November. The North County Down Hunt hosts three point-to-points during the season, an autumn fixture and two spring fixtures. Pack a picnic and enjoy this family fun activity in the countryside, where you will get to witness the future stars of the sport make their introduction into competitive horse racing. 
  7. Mince Pie Making at BroughgammonFarm, Ballycastle, County Antrim, 20 November. Grab your apron and come join the fun at Broughgammon Farm for a morning of hands-on mince pie making. Learn their fail proof recipes for the most delicious pastry and luxurious mincemeat. You’ll leave with pastry for your freezer, three pots of mincemeat and a tray of freshly baked mince pies to kick start the festive season. 
  8. Titanic Belfast Christmas Light Switch On, Belfast, 20 November.Titanic Belfast’s official Christmas Lights ceremony is taking place this month. Enjoy live music and family fun from 1pm and await the arrival of Father Christmas and his reindeer. His Chief Elf will be on hand to oversee proceedings before the spectacular chandelier and Christmas lights are turned on at 1.30pm. Make a day of it with the Family Edwardian Explorer Trail throughout the Titanic Experience and SS Nomadic or simply enjoy the family fun around the building including carol singing, funfair entertainers, Christmas crafts and lots more. 
  9. Share Village on Ice, Lisnaskea, County Fermanagh, 18 November – 4 January. Share Discovery Village is kicking off an exciting festive period with Share Village on Ice – a fantastic indoor synthetic rink, which is almost identical to a frozen surface but much more eco-friendly for all the family to enjoy. Whether you’re a budding skater or a confident glider, the wheelchair-friendly ice rink is open to all ages and abilities.
  10. Tyrone Farmer’s Market, Food and Craft Markets, Dungannon, County Tyrone, 19 November. Tyrone Farmer’s Market Ltd hosts food and craft markets on the first and third Saturdays of every month, in the Tesco carpark in Dungannon, from 8.30am until 12.30pm. There are 30 stalls selling artisan food, hand-crafted gifts and homewares, from local producers.

  1. Sound of Belfast, Belfast, 10 –20 November. Sound of Belfast is an annual celebration of the music of the city. Established by the Oh Yeah Music Centre to showcase the talent that resides and moves through Belfast’s streets and studios, venues and homes, the Sound of Belfast mantra has always been ‘turning up the spotlight on our world-class talent’. The festival is a blend of collaborative, independent and partnership events. Belfast’s musicians, creatives, artists and venues curate it and a diverse combination of sounds and scenes are delivered by them, for you.  
  2. Celtic Pendant Woodturning Experience,Mullaghbawn, County Armagh, 12 November. Padraig Carragher is a woodturner, storyteller, musician and owner of Bluebell Lane Glamping in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, the Ring of Gullion in County Armagh. Adjacent to Padraig’s home on the site of a centuries old mill, once known as “The Big House” and a place where local farmers gathered in bygone days, is now his modern woodturning studio. Using locally sourced native trees, learn how to use the lathe, sharpen tools, sand and finish under the expert guidance of Padraig. Stroll through the beautiful private woodland and learn how these trees have been used in woodturning for centuries while enjoying the fresh country air and surrounding beauty of Slieve Gullion.  
  3. NecarnePoint-to-Point Races, Irvinestown, County Fermanagh, 12 November. Necarne point-to-point is the perfect family day out in the countryside and where you will get to witness future stars make their introduction to competitive horse Unlike most racecourses, spectators can stand beside one of the fences and feel the power of the horses as they jump a fence in full flight or get close to the winning post for a bird’s eye view of the thrilling action. The track is also the perfect location for a picnic from the boot of your car where you can enjoy the action whilst entertaining friends and family.  
  4. Model Railway Day at Ulster Transport Museum,Cultra, County Down, 12 November. This year, Model Railway Day will be taking place in the Rail Galleries at the Ulster Transport Museum, Cultra. The event is organised in association with the Friends of Cultra, with support from enthusiasts from across the UK and Ireland with over 100 exhibitors involved. This year there will be over 30 layouts and associated exhibits for you to enjoy.
  5. Bronze Age for Kids, Florencecourt, County Fermanagh, 12 November. Join event guide Ianat Marble Arch Caves, who will show what life in Bronze Age Ireland would have looked and felt like through the eyes of a typical bronze age family. Ian will demonstrate first-hand how an incredible invention called a “furnace” developed by humans during the bronze age works. You will discover how Bronze Age man used the furnace to make a new metal called bronze, smelting both copper and tin to make this new alloy a much stronger material and therefore better for making farming tools and weapons.  
  6. Winter Wildlife Detective, Florencecourt, County Fermanagh, 13 November. Meet your activity guide who will take you on an Animal Seek and Find Adventure. A fun opportunity for your children to discover what interesting native animals live in the landscape surrounding the Marble Arch Caves. Led by your guide you will then be taken on an adventure into the woodland where you will visit the Mini-Beast Camp. Enjoy a mini-beast scavenger hunt, finding creepy crawlies and learning more about the unique insects that live in these woods.
  7. Nutcracker Sweeties, Derry~Londonderry, County Londonderry, 9 November. It’sa magical Christmas Eve. Ciara and her brother Fionn are on a shopping trip to a famous department store in Dublin. They wander off from their parents and the magic of Nutcracker and Christmas begins. At the Millennium Forum and choreographed by Morgann Runacre-Temple, this exciting production of the festive classic performed by a cast of world-class dancers will appeal to audiences of all ages with its fairy-tale magic, beautiful costumes and a re-imagined Tchaikovsky score.  
  8. Jimmy Buckley Concert Tour, Cookstown, County Tyrone, 10 November. Jimmy Buckley possessesa very rare talent, not only as a phenomenal singer but also as a hilarious mimic of other major stars and will be bringing this on tour with him in 2022. Jimmy’s show contains a wide variety of material, including country, big ballads and tribute medleys to the greats of country music.   9. Coast and Country – Causeway Coast Foodie Tours, Departingfrom Coleraine Town Hall, County Londonderry, 12 November. Experience the exceptional foodie culture of the Causeway Coast.     Halloween Happenings in Ballycastle, CountyAntrim, 31 October. Join the fun in Ballycastle to celebrate Halloween 2022. Enjoy Quiet Time for Children with Additional Needs from 5.30 pm – 6.30 pm, featuring a balloon modeller, amusements and Halloween crafts. From 6 pm, the parade will gather at Dalriada Hospital, Leyland Road where the fancy dress judging will take place at 6.15 pm prior to the procession departing at 6.30 pm to make its way through the town to The Seafront. Beatz Entertainments begin at 6.30 pm at The Seafront whilst waiting on the parade. Fireworks will light up the sky at 8.30 pm and then the Harry McGarrity Band will play until 9pm. 

  2. Winter Wildlife Detective, Florencecourt, CountyFermanagh, 1 – 6 November. Meet your activity guide who will take you on an Animal Seek and Find Adventure. Fidelio Trioat the Portico of Ards, Portaferry, County Down, 6 November. Shortlisted for the 2016 Royal Philharmonic Society Music Awards, the Fidelio Trio are enthusiastic champions of the piano trio genre, performing the widest repertoire on concert stages across the world. They have an impressive list of commissions and first performances and have a large discography of highly acclaimed recordings. In this concert, the programme will include a new piece by Helen’s Bay-based composer, Simon Mawhinney entitled ‘In Three’.  
  5. The Illegals at the Portico of Ards, Portaferry, CountyDown, 5 November. If you were here last year for this fabulous gig you know where you want to be this year – enjoying the best of The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac. Led by Niamh Kavanagh, The Illegals will take you on a journey of soulful harmonies, exciting riffs, blistering guitars and unforgettable songs. Songs like Take It Easy, Dreams, Life In The Fast Lane, Don’t Stop, One Of These Nights, Gold Dust Woman, Desperado, The Chain, Hotel California and many more – will be on the playlist to celebrate two of the greatest rock bands of all time. 
  6. Legendary Navan Fort (EmainMacha), Armagh, County Armagh, multiple dates and times available, check the website. Explore the archaeology and history associated with the great temple of 95BC, as well as learn about some of the significant discoveries at the nearby sites of Loughnashade, Haughey’s Fort and the King’s Stables. The experienced tour guides will explain how and why it is believed the impressive ritual temple at Emain Macha was built, as well as how this site may have been what attracted Saint Patrick to the area. This tour lasts approximately 1 hour 45 minutes, including a guided tour to Navan Fort (weather permitting) and a visit to the Iron Age dwelling area.

Ghosts of Ulster – A Spooktacular Experience in Ghost Belief, Portrush, CountyAntrim, 1 November. Enjoy an evening of hair-raising tales of ghostly goings-on at Portrush Town Hall this Halloween. Ulster University lecturers in architecture, English, and social history will share their knowledge and stories of ghosts and hauntings. The first part will be a panel discussion on ghost belief over the centuries led by experts from social history, psychology and gothic literature from Ulster University. The second part of the evening will be an interactive discussion allowing the audience to share their oral histories and narratives of ghost stories from the local area. 
  8. Crindle Stables– Halloween Activities, Limavady, County Londonderry, 31 October – 4 November. Enjoy a thrilling horse riding experience in Northern Ireland at Crindle With a range of wonderful horses and ponies to suit all riders and abilities, there is an array of activities and experiences to explore.   10. Bona Palooza, Holywood, CountyDown, 5 November. Welcome to Bona Palooza, a new micro festival exploring LGBTQ+ rural stories from Ulster’s past and present. Throughout the day there’ll be a number of talks, screenings, workshops and interventions from a number of participants from rural areas.     The Wicked Witch Trail, Florencecourt, Co. Fermanagh, 29-31 October. Join the fun when the woodland above the Marble Arch Caves will be transformed into a spooky world of Halloween surprises.  A quest awaits those who dare to explore a trail of monsters and magic and for those brave enough to help save the cave from the grips of an evil witch’s spell. Keep your wits about you on your adventure as who knows what could be lurking behind the trees or creeping up behind you! 

  2. Hallowe’en Torchlight Tours: The Haunting of Drowned Horse Creek, Omagh, Co. Tyrone, 28,29, 31 October. Celebrate Halloween at the Ulster American Folk Park. The tours explore the life of Amos Burns, who, along with his wife in 1865, travelled to an American town called Drowned Horse Creek. Legend has it that the only correspondence after his departure was a book sent home to his mother written in blood red ink and titled Torment at Drowned Horse Creek. Will you join the search for Amos and his wife, to discover if the terrifying tales of Drowned Horse Creek are true? 
  3. Samhain Yoga & Nature Retreat, Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, 29 October. Join the Blaney Spa & Yoga Centre for a full day retreat to celebrate Samhain and to begin to look inwards as you prepare for the coming winter. Across the day there will be three yoga sessions to awaken your muscles and your mind. You will learn about the ecology of the season, unearth the mythology behind the date and share customs and traditions around this most spooky time of the year.

The Armagh Observatory was founded in 1790 by Archbishop Richard Robinson, and with hundreds of years of history, there are plenty of stories to tell. There will be stories which will include themes not suitable for young children.   5. Hallowe’eenGhost Tour of Armagh, Armagh, Co. Armagh, 27-30 This one-hour walking trail will be a mix of gruesome tales of days gone by coupled with a few surprises along the way. Tread the narrow streets lightly – you don’t know who is waiting to get you. The tour concludes at Red Ned’s with a hot whisky/hot port or a drink of your choice or if U18 a voucher will be provided for an ice-cream treat or speciality coffee at Mackles Ice Cream. This tour is suitable for 13+ years of age. 
  6. Gruffalo Halloween Guided Walk, Belfast,22-31 Visit Northern Ireland’s only official Gruffalo Trail at Colin Glen to experience this Julia Donaldson-endorsed guided walk with a Halloween twist. Hear the story of The Gruffalo before heading outdoors for a guided walk through the deep dark wood to meet your favourite characters and even stop by the pumpkin patch, where you’ll pick out your very own pumpkin to carve and take home. 
  7. Ultimate SUP Halloween Party Paddle, Downpatrick, Co. Down, 29 October. This just might be the fancy dress event of the year. Paddle up the amazing QuoileRiver with this guided tour with Ultimate SUP NI. Time warp to Inch Abbey, keep an eye out for Viking invaders and paddle into the twilight on this three-hour trip. Fancy dress not compulsory but it’s recommended. This event is suitable for everyone over 14 years. 
  8. Awakening The Walled City Halloween 2022, Derry~Londonderry, 28-31 October. The Walled City of Derry~Londonderrycomes alive for Europe’s biggest Halloween festival, full of folklore, feasting and family fun. Around 100,000 people are expected to attend this year’s festival which takes place at 14 key locations across the city. The festival comes together in one giant finale with the return of the magnificent carnival parade and epic fireworks display which will see around 40,000 revellers gather on Halloween night for the first time since the pandemic. 
  9. Halloween Family Chocolate Experience, Castlerock, Co. Londonderry, 30-31 October.In this fabulous 90-minute experience, participants (suitable for ages 5+) will make a tantalising and tasty selection of Halloween themed chocolates – tailored to the ages of those attending. Every member of the family will go home with their creations, having learned the basics of tempering chocolate. They will be offered a hot chocolate while their creations set and then package them up to take home and enjoy. Kids (and adults) can choose to come in their Halloween costumes but please note this can be a messy experience. Also note, this is a private experience – when you book you will have the Chocolate Manor exclusively for your own family. 
  10. Halloween at BroughgammonFarm, Ballycastle, Co. Antrim, 14-30 October. Halloween at the Farm is back again this year – bigger and better than ever! This year there will be pumpkin picking, a witchy scavenger hunt, a Halloween craft barn and scarecrow competition at Broughgammon The farm shop and cafe will be serving up spooky treats, hot chocolates and mulled apple juice.

  1. PGA EuroProTour – The Matchroom Tour Championship, Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, 19 – 21 October. The PGA EuroPro Tour is delighted to announce that the Tour Championship will be taking place at Northern Ireland’s majestic Lough Erne Golf Resort. Following the conclusion of the season-ending event, that will be played across the 19th – 21st October, five PGA EuroPro Tour members will progress to the next step and earn their Challenge Tour card after 15 gruelling competitions. Closing out the season is the intimidating and demanding Faldo Course, which was designed by the six-time major winner and Ryder Cup icon, Sir Nick Faldo, and opened in 2009. 
  2. City of Derry International Choir Festival, Derry~Londonderry, 19 – 23 October.The City of Derry International Choir Festival is now established as a major event in the musical life of Northern Ireland and as the only international choir festival of its kind in the UK. Conceived as a joyous celebration of all that choral singing has to offer, its activities include concerts by world-renowned vocal groups, competitions for choirs, workshops and educational events for singers and conductors, and community concerts and choral trails in landmark locations across Derry~Londonderry and the surrounding area. 
  3. ToddsLeap Horror Nights, Ballygawley, Co. Tyrone, 21 – 30 October. A spooktacular night to remember this October at Todds Face nightmarish walkways, scare zones, and narrow alleyways as you try to figure out exactly how you are going to get out! WARNING: Event may be too intense for young children and is recommended for older children PG 15. 
  4. Pickie Pumpkin Patch, Bangor, Co. Down, 21 – 31 October.Pickie’s Annual Halloween Pumpkin Picking event returns this October. Pumpkin tickets include 12 tokens to use on the Pickie Attractions. How it works: Arrive on your selected date & time, produce your online ticket to be scanned and redeemed for Pickie Tokens (check ticket outlet location stated on the front entrance signage), then present your Pickie Tokens at each attraction. A token for the Pumpkin Patch will be presented at this stage. You must collect your pumpkin at this time.  
  5. StreamvaleOpen Farm Halloween Pumpkin Patch, Belfast, 15 October – 1 November. Their pumpkin patch is back with thousands of pumpkins to choose from. Kids can grab a mini wheelbarrow and go and explore the pumpkin patch. They can then pick their own pumpkin and wheel it back up the field to the designated carving marquee where staff will be on hand to help design your spooky lantern and then you can scoop it out. They will carve it for you, leaving all smells and mess with Barrel and tractor rides are all included as well as lots of other animal shows and activities throughout the day. Get your dancing shoes on at the Broomtastic Disco or enjoy the Spooky Maze, an immersive experience where you can follow the trail and meet real life characters. 
  6. Halloween Extravaganza at Crumlin RoadGaol, Belfast, 21 – 31 October. This Halloween head over to Crumlin Road Gaol for the most spooktacular Halloween event for children of all ages and adults. What better setting for your annual Halloween experience than a spooky haunted prison. Their Halloween Extravaganza includes the Spooktacular Jail Tour, the Pumpkin Puffer Train Ride and the main attraction – The Pumpkin Patch! Your experience isn’t finished yet. You can visit their Petting Farm and meet Larry the llama, Lexi the miniature cow, Pappa the pig and all their farmyard friends before finishing your fun packed day at their Live Interactive Halloween Musicals where the West Ends come to North Belfast.

During the event you will enjoy some pumpkin picking and carving, a haunting Haycart Ride with a rather wicked witch who will tell spooky stories along the way and a host of other adventure activities. The iconic dagger shared in Game of Thrones successor series House of The Dragon will be on display at Game of Thrones Studio Tour. HBO’s House of the Dragon has brought millions of Gameof Thrones fans back to TV screens around the world – and the successor series focusing on the Targaryen dynasty has shared one of the most iconic weapons from Game of Thrones – the Catspaw Dagger. The original dagger is on display alongside screen-used costumes, original sets, and props at the official Game of Thrones Studio Tour in Northern Ireland.

  2. Moira Speciality Food Fair, Moira, Co. Down, 15 October. Moira Speciality Food Fair returns to Moira Demesne this autumn and will once again showcase the rich food heritage and innovative producers of the village and wider region.You’ll meet farmers who are committed to sustainable farming methods and heritage breeds, vegetable growers working with the seasons and artisan producers using the best locally sourced ingredients to make exceptional foods for us all to enjoy. 
  3. Bushmills Salmon & Whiskey Festival, Bushmills, Co. Antrim, 15 – 16 October. The Salmon & Whiskey festival, which celebrates the local heritage and fine produce in the area, returns from 15th-16th of October. An array of fantastic entertainment and activities will spread across Bushmills Main Street, Millennium Park, Bushmills Distillery and The Salmon Fisheries.
  4. Ron Mueck Exhibition, Belfast, open now until 5 November. This is the first exhibition of Mueck’s work in Ireland and brings together seven of his key works including Dead Dad, 1997 and his monumental work In Bed, 2005. Located at TheMAC, book now for what will be a powerful exhibition of Mueck’s meticulously sculpted figures, from mini to mammoth, that act as psychological reflections of the human condition. 
  5. Oktoberfest Belfast, 13, 14, 15 October (More dates available). Every night they have an Oom-Pah band followed by a local live band, there are local radio presenters hosting and organising competitions to win prizes, and waitress service for your beer. Food-wise they have a traditional German swing grill perfectly cooking bratwurst and other lovely food over charcoal. 
  6. Scarecrow Parade, Hillsborough, Co. Down, open now until 13 November.Hillsborough Castle’s Scarecrow Parade is back! A dazzling array of Kings, Queens and Rulers have begun their reign in the Walled Garden. Who will you spot? Visit the Walled Garden at Hillsborough Castle during October and November to see a gathering of scarecrows made by local schools and community groups in partnership with local artists. 
  7. Look Up! An Autumn Night Sky Tour, Armagh, Co. Armagh, 15 – 16 October (More dates available).Produced by Armagh Observatory and Planetarium “Look Up!” is a seasonal tour around the night sky. Let the presenters guide you through the beautiful objects and constellations seen at this time of year. This show is ideal for anyone starting out in astronomy or interested in learning about what can be seen in the night sky. 
  8. Halloween Experience at Fermanagh Fun Farm, Lisbellaw, Co. Fermanagh, 15 – 31 October. Join in on the very popular Halloween experience. While you’re there, take a train ride out to the pumpkin field to choose your own pumpkin. Collect your pumpkin from the pumpkin patch to bring to the pumpkin carving shed. What creative design will you come up with? Go on a self-guided tour around the farm, feeding the animals while watching out for some spooky creatures hanging about. Or, join them at petscorner for a pet handling session. 
  9. Wild Atlantic Distillery Tour, Aghyaran, Co. Tyrone 14 October (More dates available). The distillery tour begins with a Wild Atlantic Irish Gin/Vodka & Tonic and a short talk that highlights the distillery story and traditional production methods. Tours are a combination of a Whiskey Distillery tour and a Gin & Vodka tour.
  10. Hidden Cuilcagh Hike, Florencecourt, Co. Fermanagh, 15 October.Join Geopark Guide, Helen Carleton, to explore some of the best kept secrets of Cuilcagh mountain such as the stunning Dry Valley. Hear about the true source of the mighty River Shannon and learn about the importance of the expansive blanket bog cloaking this huge swath of the Geopark and what is being done to protect it for future generations. Belfast International Arts Festival, Various locations across Belfast, October5 – November 6. Established in 1962, Belfast’s longest-running international arts festival, reimagined and reborn as Belfast International Arts Festival (BIAF) in 2015, has announced a new extended season of contemporary arts and cultural events as it marks its milestone 60th year. Over 320 imaginative, inspiring and intriguing events spanning the artistic disciplines of music, theatre, dance, film, visual arts and discussion will be hosted throughout the city for all to engage with and enjoy.  
  2. GrandaBen’s Spooktacular Ethical Zoo Trail, Ballygawley, Co. Tyrone, October 1-31. This October, come see Granda Ben’s Ethical Zoo, at Todds Leap Activity Centre, be transformed into an Autumnal Pumpkin Paradise with lots of activities, crafts and photo opportunities! Booking is required.  
  3. Celtic Pendant Woodturning Experience, Mullaghbawn, Co.Armagh, October 8. Using locally sourced native trees, learn how to use the lathe, sharpen tools, sand and finish under the expert guidance of Padraig. Stroll through the beautiful private woodland and learn how these trees have been used in woodturning for centuries throughout Ireland while enjoying the fresh country air and surrounding beauty of Slieve Gullion.  
  4. The Big Brent Weekend,Comber,  Down, October 8-9. Castle Espie Wetland Centre will celebrate the return of the light-bellied brent geese to Strangford Lough by hosting The Big Brent Weekend, which promises family fun, wildlife experts and free workshops. During the two days visitors can experience the incredible journey of the light-bellied brent through fun family activities, photography workshops, guide in the hide talks, and arts and craft workshops. 
  5. The Emigrant’s Walk, Maghera, Co. Londonderry, October8. Walk in the footsteps of an emigrant leaving famine-stricken Ireland. Local famine expert Cathy O’Neill will guide you up Carntogher Mountain, where the famine-struck emigrants once walked their final footsteps on Irish soil. You will place your own stone on the ‘Carn’ and feel what the emigrants felt as they departed their beloved homeland. At the site of an original soup kitchen, Friel’s Bar & Restaurant, you will see an authentic Famine Pot, taste the nettle soup they would have been served and learn more about local emigrants. This is a moderately challenging hike, which will require suitable clothing for walking, such as light layers and a raincoat, along with suitable walking shoes/boots. 
  6. Adventure Caving,Florencecourt, Co. Fermanagh, October 8. Your group of ten guided by your cave leader will explore cave passages, negotiate boulder chambers and clamber through the well-known flyover to emerge into the public tour of the Marble Arch Caves before navigating your way out, muddy and ecstatic. There are two sessions – a morning and afternoon time slot.  
  7. ElmfieldMarket, Gilford, Co. Armagh, October 8. The Elmfield Market brings together local food producers, artisans and wellness experts, to create an experience that realises the ethos of Elmfield Estate as a place of natural wellbeing through the power of whole foods. Gathered in the newly renovated courtyards, the market features passionate food producers, natural self-care products, plants and flowers, and art & artisan crafts. Antrim, 10 – 11 September 2022. The New NI International Air Show for 2022 will provide an enhanced viewing experience for spectators and increased exhibition viewings. The Coastal lands between Portrush and Portstewart will host ground attractions and spectators. The ground layout is more extensive, with multiple viewing points along the three mile stretch of the Borough’s coastline.  
  4. Beaghmore Stone Circles for European Heritage Open Days, Cookstown, Co. Tyrone, 10 – 11 September 2022. Discovered during peat cutting in the 1940s the site at Beaghmoreconsists of 7 stone circles. All of the rings are associated with cairns and a stone row runs towards these cairns. Unlock the secret of the stars and stones with a direct descendant of the ancient tribes people of the Sperrins. Booking is essential.
  5. Navan Centre & Fort Tour for European Heritage Open Days, Armagh, Co. Armagh, 10 – 11 September 2022. Navan Centre & Fort is a place where myth and reality meet. It is one of Ireland’s most famous and important archaeological sites, the legendary EmainCome and hear Dr Patrick Gleeson talk about recent excavations at this historically significant site. This tour lasts approximately 1 hour 45 minutes, including a guided tour to Navan Fort (weather permitting) and a visit to the Iron Age dwelling area. Booking is essential.
  6. Devenish Ecclesiastical Site for European Heritage Open Days, Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, 10 September 2022. Come and visit this ecclesiastical site on an island in Fermanagh for EHOD, an ambassador will be available to answer any of your questions. An island community founded in the 6th century by St Molaise, suffered Viking attack in 837 and burned in 1157. In the Middle Ages it flourished as the parish church and St Mary’s Augustinian Priory. Best known for its intact round tower, there is much to see and explore. Please note you will need to make your own ferry arrangements.
  7. Nendrum Monastic Site for European Heritage Open Days,Comber, Co. Down, 10 September 2022. Come and visit Nendrum Monastic Site during EHOD 2022, where guides will be present to enhance your experience as you marvel at the stunning views of Strangford Lough. Nendrum is associated with St Mochaoi who died at the end of the 5th century and is linked with St Patrick in a much later source. It is thought to be the best example of a pre-Norman monastic site in Northern Ireland. 
  8. Castle Ward – Living History Weekend for European Heritage Open Days, Strangford, Co. Down, 10 – 11 September 2022. Enjoy a tour of the house with audio interpretation and volunteer room stewards to impart information. There will also be costumed characters walking around the house and gardens throughout the day. Transport yourself back in time as you mingle with these colourful characters. Join them for themed activities and watch traditional crafts and skills brought to life.
  9. Festival Lough Erne Begins, Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, 10-11 September 2022 (Continuing until 18 September).Festival Lough Erne is back for 2022! 2.       CultureLab CultureLab Belfast, 21 February – 30 November.CultureLab is a place to take a good, hard look at the cultural stereotypes that we all know surround us in Northern Ireland. This new exhibition poses questions about culture and offers a glimpse into how identities have been, and continue to be, shaped. The exhibition includes the famous ‘Differences’ blackboard from the hit TV series Derry Girls, which is on public display for the very first time

3.       Coast-and-Country Coast and Country Coleraine, 8 Feb – 12 December 2020. On this 6 hour tour by private bus sit back, relax and savour the flavours that make this area so unique. 5.       Home-of-St-Patrick-Festival Home of St Patrick Festival Armagh, 6 – 17 March. Armagh is at the heart of celebrating the life of Patrick and the “Home of St. Patrick Festival” promises a lively and varied showcase of the best culture, music and spirituality. The festival will provide an unrivalled mix of regional and international music, theatre, spoken word, art and comedy, highlighting the stunning locations where he walked and worked.

6.       Rademon-Estate-Distillery-Tour Rademon Estate Distillery Tour Downpatrick, 21 Feb – 2 May. Learn all about their foraged botanicals, unique gin and whiskey processes, stand next to their three beautiful copper pot stills and meet the founders Fiona and David. 1.       NI-Science-Festival-Belfast-P85844/  NI Science Festival Belfast, 13 – 23 February. Join NI Science Festival as they celebrate the science of you, the universe and everything in between. Come rain or shine, the Puddle Jumping Championships are the perfect activity for a fun filled family day out. Splash about in the ‘practice puddles’ throughout the day and get-set for the daily competitions with splash-tastic prizes to be won!

3.       Belfast-Restaurant-Week-2020 Belfast Restaurant Week 2020 Belfast, 17 – 23 February. This February, treat yourself to some self-love and indulge in dining out during Belfast Restaurant Week. Due to its phenomenal popularity, this week-long initiative is returning on 17-23 February. It will run across some of Belfast City Centre’s most loved restaurants, bars and hotels, where the best in local produce can be found in what has become the country’s unrivalled food and drink scene.

4.       Silent-Light Silent Light Coleraine, 9 – 23 February. Visitors will be steeped in the landscape, embarking on a silent walk to Mussenden Temple which sits perched at the edge of a 120ft cliff overlooking the North Atlantic Ocean. Within the Temple, an installation of the artist’s ‘Stained Moons’ artwork awaits. The viewings will take place in silence and in darkness, after twilight, for fourteen nights in February.

5.       Riverdance-25th-Anniversary-Show Riverdance 25th Anniversary Show Belfast, 19 – 22 February. Since it began, Riverdance has toured the globe. The show has been performed over 12,160 times and seen live by over 27.5 million people in 546 venues worldwide. Now it is time to celebrate another milestone on that journey. The 25th Anniversary show catapults Riverdance into the 21st century and will completely immerse audiences in the extraordinary and elemental power of its music and dance.

6.       Winter-Supper-Club-New-York Winter Supper Club – New York Derry~Londonderry, 21 February. Take a trip to the streets of New York for an unforgettable night at the Walled City Brewery. Think beer, hot dogs and American sliders – you’ll be living the dream. Walled City Brewery will be working with Lo & Slo on this one so you will be in for a treat.

7.       Dragon-From-The-Lagan-Goes-To-W5 Dragon from the Lagan goes to W5 Belfast, 17 February – 16 April. Children are born natural scientists, so why not bring them to W5 to let them imagine, explore and play in Discovery. In this 45 minute workshop they’ll follow the adventures of a small, friendly dragon as he makes his way to W5 to discover a world of amazing science. Children can then enjoy some simple science craft activities and a variety of building challenges all with a maritime theme! So step on-board this February for the ultimate family day out

8.       Life-Cycles-by-Lorna-Smyth Life Cycle by Lorna Smyth Enniskillen, 2 December 2019 – 18 April 2020. This showcase of new works, curated by renowned artist Lorna Smyth, encompasses the four seasons in one year. Lorna’s art emphasises the world around us, highlights her love of nature and captures a sense of belonging regardless of the place name.

9.       Bene-and-Cormac Bene and Cormac Belfast, 22 February. This is a free event part of the Gradam Ceoil TG4. Bene and Cormac won BBC Radio Scotland’s Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2019. Their debut album Wavelength has taken the traditional music scene by storm and they themselves are at the forefront of a wave of amazing young Irish and Scottish musicians taking up the mantle. Don’t miss their gig at the Discover Ulster-Scots Centre.

10.   Six-Nations-Live-Music-Session-with-The-Muddlers-Club-Band Six Nations Live Music Session with the Muddlers Club Band Belfast, 23 February.The Muddlers Club come armed with guitars, fiddle, bodhrán, banjo, whistles, flute, harmonica, ukulele, drums and whatever comes to hand. Gigging around festivals, weddings and trips abroad as often as possible, they really are a band not to be missed. They’ll be performing at Granny Annies on Sunday 23rd February to help you get into the spirit for Six Nations Ireland vs England match at Twickenham which will be showing live on the big screens.
