One of Ireland’s most respected and successful playwrights, Frank McGuinness has towered over Irish theatre for the last 30 years.  His latest novel, The Woodcutter and his Family, takes another famous writer, James Joyce, and imagines his last days as told from the point of view of his family. Frank will be in conversation with writer Nuala O’Connor at the Seamus Heaney Homeplace this Saturday 23rd March, to discuss his wide-ranging career and the lure of creating a new fiction out of a real life.

Mavis, a former professional chorus girl tries her hardest to teach the bumbling amateurs some terpsichorean skills for an upcoming recital. But before the dancing begins Mavis must mediate the minor dramas that erupt among this motley but loveable crew on their way to triumph at their recital. Liza Minnelli starred as Mavis in the popular film. Curtain up at 8.00pm.
