Fresh from Electric Picnic, Villagers have announced that they will play to The Limelight on Sunday 19th December. Villagers are fronted by Conor O’Brien alongside Tommy McLaughlin, James Byrne, Danny Snow and Cormac Curran. Since forming in 2008, Villagers have supported Bell X1, Neil Young and Tracy Chapman. Their debut album ‘Becoming a Jackal’, released in May 2010, went straight to number one on both the Irish Albums Charts and the Irish Indie Albums Chart. The same album has been shortlisted for the 2010 mercury prize. Their Open House Festival show has recently sold out. Villagers will perform at The Limelight, Belfast on Sunday 19th December 2010.
