Ulster Orchestra: Composers and War – 150 Years in Vienna, Ulster Hall, Belfast, January 31. Nowhere bears more eloquent witness to the troubled history of Europe than Vienna, its music as much as anything else. You will hear Beethoven’s famous ‘Pastoral’ symphony, Britten’s arrangement of the Minuet from Mahler’s Symphony No. 3 and Richard Strauss’ late Oboe Concerto.
