The History of Christmas at Sentry Hill

Have you ever wondered how Christmas was celebrated yesteryear? Join us for a tour at Sentry Hill on Saturday 3 December and discover Christmas of 1907.

December of 1907 brings a double celebration for Sentry Hill! As the McKinney family welcome home Dr Hugh McKinney and his bride, Louie, who are home from London on their wedding tour ready to be introduced to the family and friends.

During your visit you will learn about both Christmas and wedding traditions with Aunt Meg. Meet the newest Mrs McKinney at afternoon tea, and marvel at the colonial curios brought home for William Fee McKinney by Hugh – parting gifts before his lone return to Nigeria…

However the fun doesn’t stop there once you have met the family, you are invited to join the staff of Sentry Hill for Christmas crafts and refreshments.

These special Christmas tours will run hourly from 11am – 3pm (Inclusive) booking is essential. Tickets: Adult £5.50 (Concession £3.60) Family Ticket £14.60.

Price includes light refreshments.  Contact T.028 9083 2363 for bookings.
